Mouse Story: part two

If you didn't read the post before this one...scroll down and read it, then come back to this one.

Okay, yesterday someone recommended using the mouse traps that are sticky. It's a little tray with gooey stuff in it, and when something steps in it, it sticks. Apparently, they have something on them that attracts the mice to it. So, Tim put that in the stove drawer as well as the two loaded traps that were previously used. Then we went to bed.

This morning, we all went down to check the trap. On the kitchen floor, right in front of the stove, was a mouse...dead. We all waited and made a few noises before entering the kitchen in case he was just in sort of a drug induced sleep from having eaten so much peanut butter in the past few days. After a moment, Tim announced he was certain he was dead. Oddly enough, all three of us girls started feeling a little sad because the darn little thing was awful cute...even his tail wasn't too bad. Gracie had the hardest time as yesterday she had decided on a name for out "pet"..."Bob". She said, "Mom? Bob's dead?" I told her yes and she began to whimper. She suggested maybe giving him some water... After a few moments of discussing the importance of NOT having mice freely roam in the house, she accepted the reality of the situation. After Tim had the mouse in a small bucket with a lid, Gracie carried it around for a few minutes...reminiscing. Tim then took the bucket and went outside.

Now, we're not naive enough to think this is it! Where there is one there's bound to be more...so we'll continue to keep the trap out. I will be buying new potholders soon as the little rascal made a meal out of the two in the drawer!

Oh my goodness! Those little stinkers are something else. We had a couple of mice in our house a couple of summers ago. Thankfully we were able to quickly rid our house of them.

So those lizards caused you to climb ontop of the table top? Roaches and those humongous spiders did that for me. YUCK! Never, never got use to them. And I surely don't miss them up here in Ky. Ha!

Happy New Year!
