Isn't That Handy?
So today, Gracie and I were in the kitchen and she asked if she could have an apple. I said, "sure", and reminded her to wash it first because I hadn't after buying them. She's actually very good about doing that sort of thing but you know how some "Mom" things just naturally come out of your mouth without even thinking first. So I went on with whatever was keeping me busy in the kitchen. She washed the apple and then said, "Mom, look at what I discovered I can do...so that I don't drip water on the floor." At which point she lifts one leg and s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-s it out as well as every tiny toe aiming for the oven door where a dish towel was hanging. All the while, she's clutching the counter in front of the sink so as not to fall over...and finally grasps the towel in between her big and second toes. She then whipped it up on the counter and proceeded to dry off her apple. I stood watching, and in my mind debated if I should thank her for being concerned about dripping water on the floor or inquire as to how long she'd been using this method!? I thanked her for being thoughtful and quietly put the dish towel in the laundry. : )
