Looking for a good book?

Several of you know how much I enjoy the author Francine Rivers. If you've not read anything by her, you're missing out! I suggest starting with her book Redeeming Love. Let me assure you, I'm not into sappy romance, so that's not at all what you'll get. Don't let the title fool you...it's not typical. Anyway, I've never found an author comparable to Francine...until now. A friend of mine recommended a series of books this past November and I finished the 5th and last book a few weeks ago. The series is called Chronicles of the Kings and is by Lynn Austin. She gives an accurate view of the time period (Old Testament times) and made it come alive for me. I will warn you...the series has the potential to cause sleep deprivation. I would find myself saying, "okay, one more chapter and then I'll turn out the light." I should also say that the books are graphic at times. (There was a lot of brutal fighting back then.)

As you may know, my parents came to Kansas for Christmas and it was wonderful to have them here! I posted a few pictures at the bottom of this page from our time together. Enjoy!
