We're home now from the wedding and all went well! Gracie is pictured here with the ring bearer...a friendly little boy. When he walked over to us before the ceremony began, Gracie exclaimed, "Oh, you look just like a gentleman!" He is a few years older than Gracie and therefore a bit closer to the "girls have cooties" mindset. He never mentioned this...and was a good little gentleman...but I picked up on some body language.
Gracie did well going down the aisle. When she got to the front she still had some petals left in the basket so stood there and gently scattered them and THEN went and stood in her place. (She was told to scatter all the petals.) After the ceremony, when the bride and groom walked out it was then Gracie's turn to walk back down the aisle with the ring bearer. I was in the back...you know, where every good "wedding planner" stands...watching, and it was terribly apparent that it was all Gracie could do to not link arms with the young boy like the other couples were told to walk. I guess to make up for the lack of arm linkage, she just walked as close to him side by side as is humanly possible! It was so cute and the little guy took it in stride, Gracie seemed pleased.
Lily looked very pretty and received several compliments on the dress we had chosen for her to wear. Alas, she is growing up as when we got home and she looked at the pictures I'd taken, requested that I not post any on the blog as she didn't like her look. I will respect that as it's generally how I feel about most pictures taken of me and also don't want even our biggest fans seeing! But take my word for it, she looked beautiful!
Lastly, Tim did a terrific job! He received several compliments as well! It was a fun evening for all...
Mouse update: For those of you who may be wondering...I finally moved my pots and pans back into the broiler. We went a full week without seeing evidence of visitors or any more peanut butter being eaten off the traps!! My fingers are crossed! : )
