Have you watched the weather channel lately? Western Kansas is under a blizzard warning and we're not far behind! It was in the 20's this afternoon with the wind chill! It's only October 22nd! Way too early to be dealing with this don't you think?
We stayed warm inside baking Butter Cut-Out Cookies this afternoon. I found these adorable fall cookie cutters last year so we had to put them to use. I was making dinner for a family at church who had their second baby a few weeks ago. We went over to visit with them this evening and as I had predicted, it was dangerous for me to spend time holding the new baby! He is so sweet and was making those precious sounds and then did "The Stretch". You know what I'm talking about...when they arch the back but have their little legs all drawn up to their body and sort of move the head slowly from side to side! (Deep sigh!)
Anyway, we were warm inside while the wind was whistling at the windows. AND, before you get fooled into thinking that everything here is picture perfect...the dining room floor is covered with cookie sprinkles, the upstairs bathroom desperately needs cleaning, there are unfolded clothes piled on Gracie's spare bed (at least they're clean) and we had cereal for dinner! : )
