The weather continues to look like it will be a problem for our yard sale tomorrow. We'll see...
It started pouring at about 6:00 tonight. We had been out with friends for dinner something we rarely do. Driving home we were surprised at how high the water was in the streets. We arrived home and as we were all making a run for it from the garage to the back door, I said to Tim...it's not storming...we should let the girls play in the rain. He said, O.K., but I think we all should! Soooo, Lily and I put on shorts and t-shirts while Tim and Gracie opted for their swimsuits. We grabbed a few towels and headed outside to play. We live across the street from the fire station, so it made a great place to run and splash. The water was gushing down the street! Now, this whole scenario is very out of character for me. For starters, it was nearing 9 o'clock at night...a school night. Also, it was a bit chilly and that means we could all have pneumonia by morning. (Tim actually mentioned that one before I did!) And, what would people driving by think? What about the neighbors hearing Gracie's screams... of delight?
I should pause here to say that I've been rather crabby this week...irritable and just short on patience. I'm certain everyone here at home noticed, but they all continued loving me anyway. I'm so thankful God provided this opportunity(it seems it's always thundering and lightening too)...it was just what we needed! It felt great to be silly and splash and wave to cars driving by while thinking...I know our kids should be in bed, but sometimes you just need to do the simple things and enjoy the precious moments that life brings you!
